January 26th, 2006 at 8:02 am
I loved the starting, I was hoping you would do something like this after I listened to the last episode. Now all you need is flashbacks during the episode with the LOST flashback sound and were set.
This show keeps getting better and better!

jay,
not to make fun, but i said the same thing to my wife.
she said”what is this like some kind of love Quadrangle?”
i told her no. it’s just a square. i thought it was funny.
January 26th, 2006 at 9:27 am
you guys didn’t mention Hurley’s nod to the fans, by calling Libby (who was looking outstanding) a “tailey”.
oh well. fantastic show.
Elmer Bernstein’s Ghost Busters=GREATEST COMEDY SCORE OF ALL TIME! take it easy guys. cant wait for monday’s show!
January 26th, 2006 at 9:58 am
Yea sorry when I was posting it this morning I accidently posted it twice, so just download one because they are the same thing.
January 26th, 2006 at 10:07 am
A. Fire+Water= Not my favorite episode.
B. That bit at the end of last podcast… Is it true about the relationship betw Jay and Jack?
C. I use the MP3 version. Will this be available on J&J.com?
D. 5 questions for Jack:
1. Was the strange bird that flew away in Exodus a different manifestation of the monster, or just some freak animal (like the pbear)?
2. Did Jack S.’s wife leave him for Desmond? (His Baby)
3. Is locke up to no good when he kept the statues, rather than destroying them?
4. Now that Claire’s “Bay-bay” is baptised, is he safe?
5. When Mr. Friendly & crew took Walt, were they trying to kill the remainder of the rafties, or did they leave them alive intentionally?
Keep the ‘casts coming. Thank you for keeping the loud bursts/yelps down (my ears thank you).
January 26th, 2006 at 10:11 am
Yea just look at the sidebar and you will see a thing that says “Subscribe MP3″ subscribe to that new feed and you will get the episode. We are trying to phase out the old mp3 feed do to cost issues. Thats why we only have the one episode a week on that one. I am formating the file now and the mp3 should be up soon.

Please keep the MP3 feed, even though AAC has way better quality + features, it isnt as widely spread. Besides, it is a propietary codec (mp3 is too but nobody cares about paying licenses for it).
If your RSS is hammering your server check out http://www.rsscache.com/
January 26th, 2006 at 10:59 am
No were keeping MP3, but we are using the new MP3 feed URL that is on the sidebar. The origional RSS feed that we used for the show is the Audioblog Feed. Our show has gotten so many listeners that Audioblog is really reaming us with the bill. So we are using a new service to house our MP3, and New AAC files. Were not ditching MP3, we just want everyone to update there feed URLs to the new MP3 feed on the sidebar, and stop using the old Audioblog feed.
If we can get most of our listeners to do this, there will be a relief from the heavy bills from Audioblog.

i think that if desmond was going out with sarah, then jack would have not only recognized her in the picutre, but he would have smashed the picture down desmond’s throat in the jungle.
January 26th, 2006 at 11:48 am
i dont mean to take over the comment section, but i just realized something. Libby is a big fat stinking LIAR! how did Hurley step on her foot as he walked by, if she was seated behind him in THE BACK OF THE PLANE?
January 26th, 2006 at 1:04 pm
What was Sayid building? Remember he ask Charlie for help after he lit the fire.
January 26th, 2006 at 1:05 pm
I think it had something to do with his walkie talkie thing that he is working on.
Jay
January 26th, 2006 at 1:57 pm
Ok you dont have to change your mp3 feed now. Audioblog has just made it possible to remotly link mp3 files.
So what does this mean? We wont get overcharged on the Audioblog service which is pretty sweet. So keep your feeds AAC, or the old MP3.
January 26th, 2006 at 2:12 pm
you are working too hard jay.
January 26th, 2006 at 4:04 pm
Are you guys really father and son????? I thought that was a joke last week, but your new podcast started out with “last week on Jay and Jack….” ROFLMAO! If this is true, that is just so wonderful!!!
Back to Lost.. for the first time, I didn’t like an episode. Maybe I’ll like it more in a day or two, after I’ve stopped feeling so angry. I’ve never been a Charlie fan, but I can’t believe the way everyone turned on him. He has been there for everyone. He saved Jack. He helped rescue Aaron. He went cold turkey off H. He messed up, but didn’t they all! Noone there is a saint.
Why didn’t anyone stop Locke from hitting him like that? They all stopped Jack from beating up Locke after Boone died.
I think they are all getting the sickness now. Two weeks ago, Charlie had an encounter with the monster (ok, he was part of Eko’s encounter) and now everyone is going against him. And the vivid dreams have to come from the monster. I really think so.
I think Kate may have entered the wrong numbers into the computer last week (Hunting Party) and look at what happened to her last week - the wrath of Jack.
Last week Jack was “Mr I’m God and the rest of the world are ants.” Wow, he wouldn’t talk with Zeke or back down or anything. He was a pompous @#$$! And Locke was there saying Who are we to tell anyone what they can or can’t do.
Someone should have reminded Locke of this in Fire and Water! What is Locke doing with all those statues and guns anyway? And what else is he hoarding? What ever happened to Sawyer’s stash of everything when he left on the raft? Is that in with Locke’s stash? Who put him in charge? I am so angry at him and Jack. But also at Hurley, Charlie’s best friend. He stuck up his nose at Charlie too. Everyone did.
Just like they’ve always done whenever any member of the group does anything the group doesn’t like - Kate’s confession, Sun’s speaking English, Jin doing something, Boone did something too. But everyone was so much harder on Charlie. He is obviously not doing drugs.. they saw his withdrawal. They’ll see he won’t be going thru it. What happened to the friendships over the past 50 odd days? What happened to Jack’s “we’ll survive if we stay together?” Gee, they treated Locke better after he lied and caused Boones death.
Anyway enough of my rant. I’ll post more logically later.
As for who did Sarah have an affair with? I think it was with Essam, Sayid’s college roommate who became a suicide bomber. Essam said he had been in love with Tzara, which is Sara in Arabic. She died in a bombing while shopping. We don’t know where - Essam had been traveling. Sarah could have been pregant with Essam’s baby and she and Jack maybe had not had sex cos he was always at work.
The info on the London skyline thing can be found on this site:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/uk/2005/battersea_power_station/default.stm Check it out. It is fascinating and fits right into the story!
January 26th, 2006 at 5:04 pm
Locke love the island so damn much, that i think that he is gonna join Zeke merry band of Island Lovers!
when have jack and locke agreed on anything? there will be Jack’s Army and Zeke’s Army. Zeke will have the upper hand, cause locke will join forces with him and bring all the guns.
January 26th, 2006 at 6:39 pm
You guys really do a good job of recapping the show… keep up the good work…
January 27th, 2006 at 6:51 am
You totally dismissed the idea that Libby wasn’t on the plane just because she said she was? Because she knew Hurley came on late?
He was the last one on the plane, right?
She says he stepped on her foot as he was making his way to his seat.
Where would that put Libby on the plane?
Not in the tail-section…
January 27th, 2006 at 8:01 am
btw, I really don’t like The Transmission.
January 27th, 2006 at 8:07 am
Oh, my gosh. You guys pulled out the Ghostbusters. That’s awesome! Back to the Future is still my favorite movie of 1985 and always, but Ghostbusters is definitely up there. And Jay, how young are you that weren’t born yet? I’m pretty young, and I was five when it came out. Oh, no what if I’m not young? *Insert identity crisis here.* This comment had nothing to do with Lost but, eh, you can’t win them all. You guys rock! Keep up the good work!
January 27th, 2006 at 8:21 am
Great work on the show guys…look forward to listening to this.
January 27th, 2006 at 9:22 am
Wasn’t there a plane too?
January 27th, 2006 at 12:21 pm
another great show guys! love you both!
p.s i loved the ‘previously on the lost podcast with jay and jack’ you guys did! it made me giggle
*giggles* tee hee!
January 27th, 2006 at 12:38 pm
So, how could Hurley have stepped on Libby’s foot on the airplane if she was a tailie? Wouldn’t she have been in the back of the plane? He would not have been able to go by her to get to his seat. What she said indicates that she was sitting further to the front than Hurley. Unless she was in the bathroom at the time of the crash. What do you guys think?
January 27th, 2006 at 12:39 pm
Sorry, didn’t see the comment above that said the same thing as my comment…
January 27th, 2006 at 7:42 pm
I was Born in March of 1985, and I think Ghostbusters came out in the summer of 1984. So yep I was born after Ghostbusters but before Ghostbusters 2
January 27th, 2006 at 9:13 pm
Piano moment: JANE CAMPION moment!!! Yay!!
January 27th, 2006 at 11:56 pm
you are a KID!
dang JAY! jack is like 23 years older than you! he COULD be your dad. but he is not. because i have heard him in the past mention that you would go over to his place and watch Lost with him and his wife. if he were really your dad, he would have referred to her as your Mom not His Wife.
you must be some kind of outcast co workers, that made a connection. Kind of like Yukon Cornelius and Hermie!
January 28th, 2006 at 9:09 am
well… his dad could have remarried… that’s why he said his wife and not your mom… right?
January 28th, 2006 at 12:02 pm
ROFLMAO! Now we’ll start analyzing the J and J podcast as much as LOST!
Ralph, I like your idea that Jack will lead one team and Locke will take the guns and medicine (the big H) and anything else and join with Zeke. But I think there will be a third group. I can’t see Jack accepting Kate now. Actually I think Jack has lost his ability to lead and while I agree that Locke will join with Zeke, there will either be a 3rd group that contains the majority of the losties or, if there are only 2 groups, Jack will not be in charge. Who will be? Don’t know. Sayid, Eko, Ana or Kate? Suddenly I see the promo for the next new episode in a whole new light!
Hmm. I have a whole thing I want to write about how Lost is now following the last 3 books of the Dark Tower series. But I can see how it is also following The Stand more than before. There a council led the free side.
Still anyone who has read the dark tower series has to see the similarities between the town where the wolves stole one of each set of twins (almost all the children were twins) and also with the ending of the stolen children and young adults with psychic abilities being forced to serve as psychic breakers. I really need to get all this down. But not today. LOL.
I don’t think anyone is taking Libby at her word that she was on the plane. It certainly would be worth a look to see that episode again. It is on the DVD set.
Anyone have any ideas as to what we are suppose to look for in watching Numbers next week?
January 29th, 2006 at 7:22 am
Well (concerning Jay and Jack lineage), I think they wanted to keep it underwraps and not make it a central part of the show. Apparently, Jay only calls Jack, ‘Jack’ while they’re doing the show. I didn’t really believe it either until this last podcast. Jack made a “your mom” joke and they shared this private giggle. I don’t know why that won me over, but it did.
Sheesh…this podcast is becoming a second Lost..
January 29th, 2006 at 8:08 am
Hey guys,
Say, what’s with this lovefest everyone’s having with Zeke and his buddies simply because they wanted to have a heart-to-heart with Jack, Locke, and Sawyer? This make them nice guys?
They’ve tried to blow up the raft, left Jin to drown, kidnapped Walt, and shot Sawyer, not once but TWICE now!
Also, I think you’re jumping (not the shark) the gun on Locke. I think his foul mood is a result of his realizing that he could not straighten Charlie out. In effect, Charlie has told Locke that he can’t do something . . . change Charlie. And remember the last time Locke “lost it” was when he thought he was doing everything the island wanted him to yet he couldn’t get into the hatch.
One other thing - maybe Locke is saving the Virgin Mary statues to remind himself (like Ecko carves on his Jesus stick) of things (or failures) he needs to remember.
Oh, and maybe Jack keeps that key around his neck because he is keeping the prescription drugs he collected locked in that box.
Thanks for the podcast!
January 29th, 2006 at 10:40 am
I just downloaded you’re entire collection of podcasts last night and i have to admit you guys are hillarious. I couldnt stop listening, i was up all night and now im half asleep at work, but it was worth to hear your predictions and insights on the show. I have a question for you both. Do you beleive there to be any significance to the fact that Jack’s father’s body was missing? Will this reappear at some point or was it simply eaten by an animal?
January 29th, 2006 at 11:11 am
Laura, brilliant connection between Essam and Sarah.
January 29th, 2006 at 3:59 pm
Wow, you were born in ‘85 and yet your first computer was an Apple II and you loved Oregon Trail? Talk about the dark ages.
January 29th, 2006 at 5:32 pm
dudes! here i was thinking jay was like 24, or 25, and here i find out he’s younger than me! only by 2 years, but still. ghostbusters has got to be one of the coolest 80’s movies. that and the goonies. in fact i’m wearing my ghostbusters shirt as i type! yeah, that LOST show is pretty good too.
January 29th, 2006 at 10:37 pm
“Sheesh…this podcast is becoming a second Lost..”
You said it.. we might have to make a “jay and jack podcast”.
January 29th, 2006 at 10:48 pm
Hate to debunk the Sarah-Essam theory, but Sarah is Sarah in Arabic, and Essam’s wife is called Zahra, a completely different name.
January 30th, 2006 at 12:31 pm
Woooooo. Jack and Jay as father and son, eh?
Na, I don’t buy it.
But maybe….
Anyway, not that I have anything cool to contribute other than this. When Hurley and Libby were doing laundry in the Hatch, “Pappa Love Mambo” was playing in the background. Could that mean something?
