Illustration of the Clock Past Zero

Colin of the up and coming LOST site AndFound.com, made a very nice illustration of the countdown clock when it went past zero in this weeks episode “One of Them”. He gave the description under each symbol. So check it out and be on the look out for AndFound.com

The words from the http://oceanicflight815.com and http://thefuselage.com boards are that we can’t make a definitive statement on the meaning since it is missing the second symbol. Apparently there are meanings that depend on a sequence of symbols instead of the symbols themselves. Thanks for posting a great picture of it!

  2. Glad you guys like it! I watched the scene again in slow motion and it seems there are a whole bunch of symbols on each column. There are probably a whole bunch of combinations that could come up.

Hopefully we can find out more about this sooner rather than later!

    Nice illustration. Thanks.

    Cool :D

    Good work Colin ;)

  5. Jack says:

I’m telling you, it’s an Egyptian slot machine. Defintely.

  6. @Jack, more importantly what do you get when you win?

  7. Damien says:

great work colin on that…it makes it a bit clearer of what it all means.

  8. Amanda says:

If you go to the official ABC General board, a lot of people have figured it out. The characters are Egyptian and are a causative (command) meaning “die.”

I just realized after thinking about the last episode, did Henry Gail have a wedding ring?
Therefore, I went through the entire episode to see if I could get a good picture of his hands. I discovered after going screen by screen, he did not have a wedding ring!!! This may be clear evidence that he may be lying.

  10. @Sal: Nice find! I checked through the episode and this is the clearest shot of his hands I could find.

maybe that’s why sayid wanted him to show his hands (didn’t he say that before he was about to use the pliers?).but on the other hand if sayid would have noticed that gail didn’t have a ring and could thereby prove that he’s a liar wouldn’t he have told jack that (at least there would be a kind of proof that he is lying, not just sayid’s feeling)

    HEY!
Forget the heiroglyphs for one second…what’s up with Locke knowing how to reset the counter, itself? What’s up with that?!?!

  13. Daniel says:

i think he didn’t actually reset the counter.it just didn’t happen to be too late when he punched in the numbers since not all glyphs had shown up by then.

  14. I think there is more allotted to punching in the numbers then we have been told. If the process finished and the everything that was revving up finished then I dont believe Locke could have reset the clock. But it seems he hit enter just at the last second.

  15. Daniel says:

actually they mean the causative form of to die which would be “to die somebody” which is of course “to kill”

Remember a long time ago when the six constellations of Apollo were discussed? It may have been another podcast, but it had some significance at the time.

Anyway, the six contellations of Apollo are:
    Cygnus the Swan
    Arrow
    Crow
Goblet (Greek word for goblet = crater)
    Serpent Handler
    Hunter

These might probably coincide with the 6 alleged hatches (or bunkers) on the island: The Swan Station, the Arrow Station, etc. Could the hatch the girls find in next week’s episode maybe be the Serpent Handler Station? See a pattern here …

Did anyone else think this episode had some “Wizard of Oz” references? Dorothy’s last name was Gale, and her Uncle Henry would’ve been “Henry Gale”. Judy Garland (aka Frances Gumm) was from Minnesota. And the balloon ride? Well, we all know how the wizard left Oz, right? Hmmmm….. Just thought those references were interesting, don’t you?
