Thanks for reviewing the map. I heard and saw some information about it before, but like most people, I guess, it takes more than one viewing to absorb everything. If your reference to an April Fool’s joke was that “new” Dharma film…I say hoax.

1) The stamps on the supposed envelope that the cd of the film was mailed to that guy in were not cancelled out.
2) I don’t want to call myself an expert, but I am a graphic designer and have the use of Photoshop, like most people. Upon inspection of fore-mentioned envelope, you will notice that the Hanso Foundation logo has been inserted over the top of a scan of the envelope, itself. There is MAJOR pixilization in a retangular form around both the Dharma Logo and the guy’s “address”. Something that may happen upon compression of the scan to .JPG format, BUT…it would not be in such a clean rectangular manner.
Nice work on the film, however…my guess is some college kids who have extra time and are doing it for fun or a class project on phenomenology.

Great show, and fun song to wrap it up! “Jay and Jack” is definitely leading the way in “Lost” musical innovation.
As to the mysterious Hanso Foundation envelope received in the mail… I can’t vouch for the contents, but I can confirm that the mailing actually happened. Because The Transmission got one, too!

sorry i could not spit out the word “Walkabout”. i have been sick since friday night. i was too excited about coming up with that little bit of bussiness that i couldnt think straight. i think that was the first message i sent you. my phone was also acting funny, and did not know if that message even went through. oh well. i just dont know how i could remember tabula rasa, and not walkabout. anyway, sorry about my blathering. i hope to be out of this funk within the next couple of days. maybe Jack gave me, what he has.

You know everyone is focusing on the importance of the map on this episode… but there may be a more important clue in the card game.
We think of Jack’s special power as being surgical/healing, but his special power may be (also) mind reading of some sort. He may have given away some clue to this on this episode. He knew a bunch about everyone’s cards. Check out early episodes for clues.
If this had happened on any other episode, we’d be talking a lot about the card game.

Hey I just thought of something. The blast doors could be a decontamination chamber. Blacklights are lights that emit UV radiation and little visible light. I work in a biology lab and we use UV lights to sterilize large areas. I was thinking that if the sickness was a bacteria, the lights that come on could be a cheap and effective method to decontaminate the occupants of the hatch.

One Caller alluded to hatch dwellers staying in the hatch due to “Quarantine”, however I think you haev it backwards, “Quarantine” is to keep people out, if I’m in a quarantined area, I’m already sick so who cares if I go out, you should worry more about coming into where I was sick.

Hi Jay & Jack, About Locke going to the bank and opening the safe deposit box. since his dad staged his death, to make it real he must have left some sort of will with a death certificate, this way he can go to the bank and open the box.Otherwise you can~t just go and open a safe deposit box.

What’s the deal with the french woman. These guys like in 4 months found more hatches, graves, balloons, etc, while the crazy french woman (Russeau) keeps walking and walking without finding anything. Some of these hatches were not even really hidden!!! Does she knows more than we think she knows???

Just some random speculation: the security system brings supplies from the main building; the black lights keep it from entering the building, and the blast doors are a special safe-guard. Remember, that the black lights also went on where Henry was.
I also believe that Henry knows his way around the hatch, and knew how to lift the blast doors from a different location than by pushing the buttons; or there are even more people on the island punching the buttons when it buzzes. That’s why he came from behind Locke.

I love the podcast.
My Theory about lost is that the island is over the entrance to the under world. I think that is why the island has the strange powers that it has. I also think that that is why dharma came to the island to harness the power of the island. Then the others took over dharma and that is what happenend. I think that they have to keep putting in the numbers to keep the gates of hell close.
