Jay and Jack-
Libby doesn’t seem to be too thrilled with winning Hurley’s heart. She appears to be all concerned and caring for Hurley. But her actions in “Dave” seem to prove otherwise. She may be forced into having relations with Hurley by someone (the Others? Dharma? Dave?).
Here is why I think this. OK. They kissed for the first time on the cliff. Love was in the air. But so was doubt. As they were walking away from the edge, you hear the happy music turning to menacing music. Then you see her face turn from a happy face (not the one on T-shirts) to a face of disgust. It looked like she was about to lose her lunch. She was not a happy camper.
What do you guys think?

Danielle has uber science skills so she probably knows Latin.
Also the title of this one made me think of Sigmund Freud and how his theory on LOST would be somthing to do with his fathers penis.

I chose Id because “Dave-Id” and of course the Id, Ego, and, Super Ego psychoanalysis. Id being the instinctive “Bad” side of a persons personality alot like Hurley’s imaginary friend.
April 10th, 2006 at 8:51 am
Hey guys,
You keep bouncing around theories about Hurley’s imaginary friends. Well at the end of the episode they show Libby in the asylum.. cue my crackpot theory.. the entire show could be in Libby’s imagination. She doesn’t have to see Dave, b/c she is imagining Hurley has an imaginary friend. She told Hurley it was rude to think of her as imaginary b/c he didn’t know the name of some guy she buried. I haven’t heard her ask anyone’s name.. she probably knows them all since they’re all in her imagination!
dum dum dum…

Has anyone mentioned that Eko might be building a Memorial for those people who had not survived the plaine crash?
April 10th, 2006 at 11:27 am
I was listening to the most recent podcast and just though of a pretty good crack pot theory…let me know what you think!
Libby, as we saw in the last episode, was at the same mental institution as Hurley. As many people have pointed out, she seemed to be the only female patient amongst all the men in the room where Hurley and “Dave” were. My theory is that Libby is only posing to be one of the patients there. She is actually a doctor or psychologist at the institution and is doing research by actually pretending to be one of the patients. Her main focus at the time when we saw her were Hurley and “Dave.”
Who knows is this will fly, but I thought it was a pretty interesting idea!
Thanks again for all of your hard work!!
April 10th, 2006 at 11:37 am
I forgot to add that this can be supported by the fact that Libby did say that she is a Psychologist…and she was right on when she was helping Hurley. and his problems…she even showed up when he was on the cliff. She knew his past tendencies, and about “Dave” so she knew she had to keep a close eye on him.

OKay..this is my last weird theory…
Last week someone suggested that maybe Brenard was the owner of the Widmore company, and in todays podcast, Jay and Jack were talking about the possibility of Brenard being a “bad guy.” What if Brenard is the man who Jin was supposed to deliver the watch to?
I have no idea if this has been talked about already or if it has been said who Jin was actually going to go see…but this theory could be pretty interesting..

Pretty nice of ABC/Disney!

I don’t buy that this is in anyone’s imagination. The story line was for two different groups on the island. How would someone who was imagining the whole thing keep track of what happened at the same time in different locations. Does not fly - besides it has been done before and I hope the writers are not that lame..I’d be ticked off if that was the big end.
Question - who did the painting in the hatch on the wall? Remember that? And wasn’t the Australian guy/boyfriend a painter earlier on? He told Claire he loved her and his painting would keep them afloat. Could he have been on the island earlier on - and because he is the father of Claire’s baby, they want the baby? Maybe this is why she had to never give the baby up - becasue of who the father was. (sort of borrowing this from another theory I heard somewhere else, but was a good one I think!). Maybe the people she told to sing, “Catch a falling star” to the baby were also Dharma, they want the baby because it is from a Dharma employee - and that is why the mobile in the medical hatch played the song…they KNEW she wanted it played for the baby.
Plot thickens…..

Jay and Jack… whatever happened to the video documentary that you guys were making?
April 11th, 2006 at 2:49 am
My Theory is that this “HIM” has come in contact with our good friend lenny and has turned him crazy.Maybe this “HIM” doesnt kill people but he turns them crazy which is worse and more humiliating than death.
On another note i made a funny lost video with that “million dollars spoof” song on its worth checking out jay and jack - if you want the other half just comment me back thanks

Jack - just to disprove your “Libby is imaginary” theory - how do you explain other characters on the island talking to her?
Although, Libby’s reasoning that she’s not imaginary because she mentions things that happened to her that Hurley wouldn’t know about is a little flawed. What’s to say he wouldn’t imagine her telling him about things that happened to her? Not that I think she or the island is imaginary, but it’s kind of flawed logic. Your imaginary friend could tell you he became the king of England but it doesn’t mean that he did!

I think Libby is real. I was saying at the time we see her in the hospital, that maybe she’s like Dave, not really there.
It was just guess.

Eko is clearly building a church.

I HAVE A THEORY!!!!! CHECK THIS OUT!!!!!!
I think that Walt’s mom’s husband works for Dharma! i was reviewing the first season and watched the Walt and Michael episode. when michael was in the house picking up walt, he was looking at the box the nanny gave him with all of the letters, it looked up on him so you could see the ceiling. the ceiling was shaped like an octogon (you know, like the dharma logo). Walt’s mom’s husband said he paid for the tickets and could have known about the crash. Walt’s mom could have faked her death just to get the two on the plane together. Great podcast. Peace out!
